MITTWOCH AUS LICHT
A quick post of some photos taken at the staging of the 'unstageable' opera by Karlheinz Stockhausen: Mittwoch aus Licht. Produced by Birmingham Opera Company at Argyle Works, a disused factory building in the outskirts of Birmingham.
It was a glorious spectacle, all the more enhanced by the raw, honest production and venue as well as a feeling of being a minor part of the performance. Its easy, relaxed, 'uncostumed' nature belied the obvious amount of time and effort put in by a very large number of people.
