architecten de vylder vinck taillieu
I discovered these Belgian architects at the Venice Biennale 2010 where they presented a 1000 m² house composed of seven houses in Inner Mongolia.
I’m really enjoying their unique brand of unfussy but beautiful, sober but inspiring, contemporary but timeless architecture. And their drawings and models are just as delightful.
Their first book (of a set of three coming soon) teems with ideas and gives me a renewed love for architecture every time I pick it up. The perfect antidote to the ever-prominent starchitect culture, especially as they recently won the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture Mies van der Rohe Award. |
